As I was working at my desk
A mouse ran up my trouser leg.
He gave a scratch, he gave a frisk,
And then he tried the other leg.
I gave a shout,
I leapt about,
I shook my pants to get him out;
He wouldn’t jump, he wouldn’t budge,
But said he’d like some peanut fudge
And when I frowned he seemed to say
Well all right then; some bread and cheese
Would be okay;
And then I think I heard him say,
Please.
